Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program Overview

The BWH Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program is a multidisciplinary program that brings together experts in both Pulmonary Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Cardiothoracic Surgery who are committed to providing the most comprehensive and compassionate care to patients referred to us for all forms of pulmonary vascular disease, right heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.

We are dedicated to developing a plan of care that is individualized to the patients' needs using all of the resources available at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Our goal is to expedite your diagnostic evaluation in a comfortable setting using state of the art resources in order to provide you access to the most up to date and cutting edge therapy. Our clinical program is designed to provide evaluation, treatment and follow-up for all patients with Pulmonary Vascular Disease. We are involved in many research trials that place us on the cutting edge of new treatments as they emerge.

We place a strong emphasis on patient education and encourage our patients to learn as much as they can about their disease and their medications. We provide an environment for patients and their referring physician to work together with our team in deciding what is the best treatment plan for you. In addition to providing individualized treatment and counseling, we offer access to a patient Support Group for patients and their families to share personal experiences and learn from each other.
