Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship

The Harvard Partners Consortium in Clinical Neuropsychology seeks candidates for a two-year fellowship in neuropsychology. The joint Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital Fellowship is a program of Harvard Medical School. Two fellowship slots are available.

The fellowship program is designed to provide excellent clinical training in adult or lifespan neuropsychology. Experiences and didactics conform to Houston Conference/Division 40 training requirements so that fellows will be successful in obtaining board-certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in clinical neuropsychology.

Clinical experience will consist of adult neurological cases including dementia, epilepsy, brain tumor, developmental syndromes, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis and other degenerative conditions. At the Mass General site, the fellow has the opportunity to receive training in both pediatric and adult cases. The clinical experience will be primarily outpatient-based but will include some inpatient consultation. Specialized experience will be offered in the Epilepsy Surgery Program including Wada Tests and intraoperative cortical mapping.

A required portion of the fellowship will be research activity through a proposed project or via participation with faculty in ongoing research projects. Didactic opportunities abound at both settings. The training experience is enriched by a highly collaborative teaching environment in which the fellow will work closely with neuropsychologists, behavioral neurologists, psychiatrists, and others with a special interest in brain and behavior. There are opportunities to supervise graduate practicum students.

A competitive stipend ($48,500 year one; $52,000 year two) plus excellent benefits are offered. An academic appointment will be made as a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School. Applicants should be graduates of an American Psychological Association/Canadian Psychological Association (APA/CPA)-accredited programs in clinical psychology or neuropsychology and should have completed an APA/CPA‐approved predoctoral internship. Completion of the doctoral degree is required before the fellowship start date.

We are actively committed to increasing the diversity of our staff. Women and members of underrepresented minority groups are therefore strongly encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants should e‐mail two full sets of application materials (one set each to Mary-Ellen Meadows, PhD, and ABPP Britt Carlson Emerton) including:

  • Letter of intent including discussion of area of research interest
  • CV
  • Two sample reports
  • Application Supplement
  • Three letters of recommendation

The deadline for applications is December 7. Only electronic applications will be accepted.
