NeuroICU CME Courses

Advanced Neuro Intensive Care: A Harvard CME Program

This is an advanced level concentrated course in Neurological and Neurosurgical Intensive Care that assumes basic knowledge in critical care and neurological diseases. It brings participants to a high level of current practice by focusing on specific issues related to the management of each of the main Neuro-ICU diseases (cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, head and spine trauma, status epilepticus, etc.).

Topics have been chosen and the lectures have been designed to both update the fields and give a critical analysis of the existing evidence base. All the speakers have extensive experience in Neurocritical care. Most of the material is pertinent to adult critical care but experts in Pediatric Neuro-ICU will be presenting information as well.

A session will be devoted to organizational matters in the initiation and leading of a Neuro-ICU by a panel of doctors and nurses. The final morning of the course is a hands-on practical workshop in Neuro-ICU techniques that is supervised by the faculty. At the end of the course, the attendee should be able to implement current practices and transmit this information to peers.
