Meet the Director
Shamik Bhattacharyya, MD, MS is the Chief of the Division of Spinal Cord Disorders and a board-certified neurologist. He attended Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed residency in neurology at the Harvard Neurology Residency Program of Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He started the multidisciplinary spine neurology clinic at the Comprehensive Spine Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in collaboration with neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, anesthesia, and physiatry. Clinically, he treats the full range of spinal cord disorders. Academically, he is particularly interested in inflammatory causes of spinal cord dysfunction. Dr. Bhattacharyya has published his work in renowned international journals and presented at many conferences.
