Pain Neurology Research

As part of its mission to provide world-class clinical care and further the understanding and treatment of neurological diseases, the Department of Neurology sponsors multidisciplinary research programs spanning the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology and Medicine.

The efforts and expertise of this multidisciplinary group of physicians and scientists have produced significant contributions to our understanding of neurological disease mechanisms and to the development of new treatments for brain disorders.

Our research is focused on the translation from the science of pain in the lab to its application in clinical practice with the eventual goal to improve diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions.

The Department of Neurology also understands the importance of clinical research and clinical trials to our patients and the neurology research community as a whole. We offer a number of clinical research and trial opportunities to our patients and the community.
