Pain Neurology

Chronic pain remains a serious health problem in the US and represents one of the leading causes for doctor’s visits. Patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, such as low back pain, neck pain, nerve pain or face/ head pain typically experience significantly decreased quality of life and often require several consultations with different medical specialties to correctly diagnose their condition and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. The BWH Division of Pain Neurology strives to expedite and defragment this process with the ultimate goal to providing targeted, efficient care. Our pain experts are double boarded in both neurology and anesthesia-based pain treatments and are therefore well equipped to diagnose the pain cause, as well as treat with a broad spectrum of conservative and interventional methods.

Our pain experts work closely together with the following divisions within the BWH Department of Neurology to provide the best comprehensive care possible: the Graham Headache Center, Neuromuscular (for nerve conduction studies), Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuro-infectious disease, Neuro-ophthalmology, Sports and Concussion, and Sleep and Circadian Rhythm Disorders. Our physicians are also members of Brigham and Women’s Comprehensive Pain Center and work closely together with surgical services.
