Epilepsy and Seizure Center

Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders

The Edward B. Bromfield Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychiatrists, neuropsychologists, social workers, nurse specialists and electroencephalography (EEG) technologists, all with specialized training and expertise in epilepsy and related seizure disorders.

Brigham and Women’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a level 4 nationally accredited center offering state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments for adults with seizures and offers consultations and advanced treatments for those with uncontrolled epilepsy including those who may be candidates for surgical treatment. We are home to the most advanced brain imaging technologies which allow precision mapping of the brain to locate where seizures originate to guide surgery without disrupting brain function. We also understand that epilepsy causes tremendous challenges, and it is critical to treat the whole patient. We work closely with our multidisciplinary team who offer assessments to help patients with psychiatric, psychological and social issues that are common and quite distressing to individuals and their families.
