Neurosurgical Medical Clerkship Program

The Neurosurgical Service at Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School offers a clerkship in neurosurgery for third and fourth year medical students, as well as students coming from medical schools abroad.

Accepted students will be welcomed to our department by our faculty, residents and fellows for a four week rotation. Students will spend time learning about several of our services: Pediatric, Spine, Tumor and Cerebrovascular. During your time with us you will assist in surgeries and participate in weekly conferences with our trainees.

Based on your interest, you will be assigned a mentor at either Boston Children's Hospital or Brigham and Women's Hospital. If you are trained at an American or Canadian Medical College and are planning to apply to our residency program, you will also be required to give a ten minute presentation towards the end of your clerkship on a topic discussed by you and your mentor.

For more information on our residency program, please visit our Residency Program page.
