The Orthopaedic Spine Service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) cares for patients with the full range of acute and chronic spine conditions from disk herniation to spinal stenosis, sciatica and scoliosis to spinal cord injuries and tumors. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists—surgeons, pain management specialists, physiatrists and therapists—diagnose and treat conditions with non-surgical options such as medication, injections and physical therapy. When surgery is the best option for relieving pain, and improving quality of life, our team of expert spine surgeons perform all types of spinal surgery using conventional and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Our spine surgeons are extensively trained in spinal care. They completed fellowships in spine surgery, orthopaedic surgery, arthroplasty and oncology and have been named among America’s top doctors by Castle Connolly and Boston Magazine. They are active researchers in spinal conditions and train the next generation of spine surgeons through our orthopaedic spine fellowship program.
The Orthopaedic Spine Service is part of BWH’s Comprehensive Spine Center a multidisciplinary center promoting non-operative and surgical approaches. Our surgeons also collaborate with the Spinal Tumor Program at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center.
