Core Integration is a way of using your body in a natural way that empowers you to perform the activities of daily life without pain. In this class we will focus on the organization of the pelvis, low back, and ribs to improve bending forward, reaching, lifting, sitting, and standing. These are the typical problems of people with low back pain. In this innovative class we will combine the advantages of a small group with the specificity of individualized treatment.
Course Information (Ongoing Registration):
Class is held weekly on Wednesdays from 8:40 to 9:40AM. Class size is limited to 7 students. Leader is Arthur Madore, LMT, a certified Core Movement Integration instructor. This class is intended to help people with chronic low to moderate low back pain that prevents them from living a full life. This 1 hour class is intended to give participants the self awareness to reduce strain on their low back doing your common every day activities. This includes, sleeping, sitting, standing, changing positions, walking, bending, reaching, vacuuming, and exercising. We will explore how you currently use your body and what ways you can divide the effort of any movement or position through more body segments.
You will need comfortable loose fitting clothing. The movements are small, slow, and when done properly, pain free. There is no stretching, strengthening or sweating. The emphasis is on finding a way of being and moving that is comfortable. This will mean learning to use your whole body. When you feel comfortable you will learn how to relax your back while moving.
