Dermatopathology

The Dermatopathology Service of the Division of Surgical Pathology provides comprehensive diagnostic expertise and services relating to the pathology of disorders of the skin and related mucosae/soft tissues. In addition to evaluation by conventional histology, a variety of specialized immunological and molecular techniques are routinely available. The Service provides services for the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, as well as in the form of national and international consultations. Active educational initiatives include daily teaching of students, residents, fellows, and visiting scholars, as well as programs for continuing medical education. The Service is a component of the Brigham and Women's Program in Dermatopathology that encompasses complementary clinical and basic research initiatives focused on the pathophysiology and translational biology of skin cancer and inflammation.
