Non-ACGME Accredited Fellowships
Trainees eligible for Primary ABP Certification in AP or Combined AP/CP often pursue additional year(s) of training to become competent in one or more subspecialties of interest.
Such Fellowship training does not lead to additional certification, and is not accredited by the ACGME. Nevertheless, Clinical Fellowships at Brigham and Women's Hospital undergo rigorous curriculum review and oversight by the institutional Graduate Medical Education Committee, and meet the standards set by the ACGME for its accredited programs.
Fellows benefit from exposure to the world-renowned faculty and surgical pathology material, and are involved in review of consultation material, clinicopathologic correlation and tumor board conferences.
Trainees may apply for the year-long Surgical Pathology Fellowship, which provides advanced training in multiple clinical subspecialty areas. Also available is a Cytogenetics Pathology Fellowship.
