Because Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is a member of Partners HealthCare, an integrated health care system, we offer patients a continuum of coordinated and high-quality care. For newborns requiring subspecialty care, we are fortunate to have immediate access to the expertise of subspecialists in every area of pediatrics at two of Boston’s preeminent children’s hospitals, Boston Children’s Hospital and MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
Between these two great hospitals, our infants have access to hundreds of specialists in pediatric services for any urgent or non-urgent procedure, consultation, or later outpatient services.
Pediatric subspecialties include, but are not limited to:
Critical Care Medicine
Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Medicine
Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement
Plastic and Oral Surgery
In addition, BWH offers fetal consultation for at-risk mothers and families in collaboration with the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and with our pediatric partners. During consultations with our neonatologists, discussion about your infant's delivery and immediate plans after birth will be considered.
Our multidisciplinary team draws on the expertise of many BWH specialists to deliver integrated and personalized care for each patient. Our pediatric newborn medicine physicians are faculty members at Harvard Medical School and active researchers who continually seek improvements in treatment and care for newborns and children.
