Young Adult Mental Health Program (YAMH)

Brigham and Women's Young Adult Mental Health aims to become a regional center of excellence across clinical care, teaching, and research for the young adult population ages 18 to 26 years old.

We foster the development of our patients' competence in independently directing their healthcare as they transition from parent-centered pediatric care to self-directed adult healthcare systems. Our team is engaged in research to provide evidence-based care for young adults.

Our initial diagnostic consultation may include appointments with both a physician and social worker. Health professionals training in both psychiatry and social work collaborate with our team of specialists. Group psychotherapy is available for specific conditions. We are building a Patient and Family Advisory Committee to advise and inform the team regarding care, service delivery, and policies.
