Computed Tomography (CT) Referral Information for Patients and Families

Most radiology exams require a referral order from your doctor. If your doctor is a Mass General Brigham physician, she or he will make the order in our electronic order-entry system and will also schedule the appointment for the time and location you choose. Physicians who are not part of the Mass General Brigham network will need to fax your imaging exam order to us. After that is done, you can then call us to schedule your appointment. You can also call Radiology Scheduling to change your appointment. If you call when the office is closed (business hours are listed below), leave a message and your call will be returned the morning of the next business day.

Women who are due for their annual screening mammogram do not need a doctor’s referral and can schedule the appointment themselves by calling Radiology Scheduling.

Pre-authorization for Imaging Exams

If pre-authorization is required, that process will be initiated by the physician who ordered your imaging exam.
