At Brigham and Women’s Hospital, you will have access to state of the art equipment for your training. PACS workstations with voice recognition software and a synced electronic medical record are in use in every reading room. Some highlights of our state of the art radiology technology currently in use include a 7 Tesla MRI scanner, as well as numerous 3 and 1.5 Tesla scanners, 4 dual energy CT scanners (2 single source dual energy and 2 dual source dual energy) and an on-site cyclotron (for production of C-11, N-13, O-15, and F-18). The mammography section is completely digital, with tomosynthesis available for use in both screening and diagnostic mammography, as well as for stereotactic biopsy and localizations.
The AMIGO project (Advanced Multimodality Image Guided Operating), opened in May 2011, combines MRI, PET scanning, radiography and angiography in an operative suite.
