Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention

Stacy Smith, MDStacy Smith, MD
Division Chief and Distinguished Barbara N. Weissman Chair
Network Director of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Interventional Services

The Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention specializes in imaging bone, joint and soft tissue disorders. The Division also specializes in all areas of musculoskeletal imaging, including arthritis, infection, metabolic disease, trauma, tumor, sports medicine and congenital abnormalities. State-of-the-art imaging and care is provided by utilizing MRI, CT, ultrasound, radiography and other advanced technologies.

The Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention staff works closely on a daily basis with the other clinical services in the Orthopedic and Arthritis Center. This collaboration enables our Musculoskeletal Radiology staff to effectively and efficiently tailor studies to the patients’ and physicians’ specific needs. The staff provides services at various BWH locations around eastern and southern Massachusetts. All of these sites are linked by digital technology to enable images to be available to all interested clinicians and consultants, regardless of their location.
