Ultrasound

Mary Catherine Frates, MDMary Catherine Frates, MD
Division Chief, Ultrasound

The BWH Department of Radiology provides ultrasound services at the hospital main campus and at community-based locations throughout southeastern Massachusetts. Across this network, our technologists and radiologists use state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images while focusing on patient safety and comfort.

Ultrasound (also called sonography) is used to diagnose abnormalities and to guide interventional procedures, such as thyroid biopsies and renal biopsies.

Your doctor can select the BWH location that is closest to you or that offers the most convenient appointment for you.
