Our Lung Transplant Research

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Lung Transplant Program is composed of pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons working in conjunction with consultants from a variety of disciplines, all deeply invested in advanced research programs dedicated to improving outcomes after lung transplantation. Some of the research protocols currently underway at BWH include:

• Novel Lung Trial: Normothermic Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion As An Assessment Of Extended/Marginal Donor Lungs
• The expanding role of biomarkers in the assessment of smoking-related parenchymal lung diseases
• Interstitial Pneumonitis and the Risk of Chronic Allograft Rejection in Lung Transplant Recipients
• A targeted peritransplant antifungal strategy for the prevention of invasive fungal disease after lung transplantation: a sequential cohort analysis
