About the Division of Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care
The Division of Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is an integral part of BWH's accredited Level 1 Trauma Center and specialized Burn Center. Our physicians and surgeons provide 24-hour, state-of-the-art emergency medical and surgical care for the most critically ill and injured patients.
Under the expert leadership of Ali Salim, MD, Chief of the Division of Trauma, Burn, and Surgical Critical Care, and Anupama Mehta, MD, Medical Director of the Burn Center, our team includes board-certified physicians who are fellowship-trained in surgical critical care, burn surgery and plastic surgery. They collaborate with BWH specialists across multiple disciplines to ensure optimal patient care. The Division also includes dedicated clinical and administrative staff.
Our trauma and burn specialists are active physician-scientists engaged in ongoing research. They are highly regarded educators who train the next generation of trauma and burn physicians through our surgical critical care and acute care surgery fellowship programs.
