Lori J. Schroth, Vice President, Communication

Lori SchrothLori J. Schroth serves as vice president of Communication. In this role, she is responsible for advancing the Brigham's mission and vision, as well as informing and inspiring the Brigham community and beyond, by sharing information and telling stories about our compassionate care, biomedical research and innovation, educational commitment and our local and global work.

Schroth is responsible for executive and strategic leadership in the establishment of integrated communication program at the Brigham, working in collaboration with communication leaders across the Mass General Brigham system. Partnering closely with colleagues at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, she also oversees the marketing program for the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. Schroth also leads the internal communication program for the specialty hospitals of Mass General Brigham, including Spaulding Rehabilitation, Mass Eye and Ear and McLean.

A creative and curious leader with nearly 20 years of experience in academic medicine and health care, Schroth is passionate about fostering an inclusive, mission-driven culture through strategic approaches to media relations, crisis communication, brand management and executive and internal communication.

Schroth began her communication career at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and joined the Brigham in 2005. Since then, she has held a series of leadership positions at the Brigham, previously serving as manager of Media Relations, director of Digital and Media, director of News and Enterprise Communication and senior director of Strategic Communication.

Schroth earned her bachelor's degree in communications and journalism from Northeastern University and studied web strategies for health communications at Tufts University School of Medicine.
