Ossama Al-Mefty, MD

The Skull Base Surgery Program is led by world-renowned neurosurgeon Ossama Al-Mefty, MD, recognized by his peers as a leader in caring for patients with meningiomas and rare skull tumors (chordomas) and a pioneer in developing techniques for treating rare and complex skull base conditions.

Omar Arnaout, MD

Omar Arnaout, MD is a neurosurgeon in the Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery. He completed his fellowship in Skull Base Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as well as a Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at the Center for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia. In addition to his expertise in open and endoscopic brain tumor and skull base tumor surgery, he helps lead the Computational Neuroscience Outcomes Center (CNOC) where he focuses on neurosurgical applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Wenya Linda Bi, MD, PhD

Linda Bi, MD, PhD is a neurosurgeon in the Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery. She completed her training and fellowships in Skull Base Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition to her expertise in open and endoscopic skull base surgical techniques, she leads a multi-disciplinary research team focused on the translational biology of skull base tumors, including meningiomas, pituitary tumors, and vestibular schwannomas, to improve patient outcomes.

Michael A. Mooney, MD

Michael A. Mooney is a neurosurgeon in the Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery. He completed his neurosurgical training at the Barrow Neurological Institute with an emphasis on complex cranial and endoscopic surgery, and he completed additional fellowship training in Skull Base Neurosurgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is the current the Director of Clinical Care Redesign at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Timothy R. Smith, MD, PhD, MPH, joined our team after completing his fellowship in Neurological Surgery in 2015 at BWH. Dr. Smith is available to treat patients at both our main campus and Milford practice locations.
