The Department of Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital is on the forefront of neuroscience and tumor biology research. With a robust research agenda and state-of-the-art technologies, our program is supported by over 20 research faculty and $10 million in funding each year.
Our laboratories conduct both basic science and clinical research to explore a range of complex neurological diseases, such as brain tumors, spinal disorders, stroke, and epilepsy. The aim of our research is to investigate the underlying risks, treatment strategies, and outcomes associated with these diseases and translate new findings to design and optimize neurosurgical treatments for each of our patients. Our Department works collaboratively on various research projects, as well as with other local, national and international partnering institutes.
