Career and Advanced Training Opportunities

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) offers a variety of opportunities for advanced clinical and research training. We are also seeking qualified candidates to join our faculty team.

Advanced Training Opportunities

The division offers a three-year gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship program, training five fellows per year in two tracks: basic science and clinical/translational science. Fellows have access to mentored research opportunities at BWH and Harvard Medical School (HMS) during the second and third years, and can receive formal research training through the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health (HSPH). The program also supports fellows in obtaining an MPH degree from HSPH.

The division also offers advanced fellowship training in interventional endoscopy, bariatric endoscopy, advanced IBD, and medical pancreatology.

A founding member of the Mass General Brigham system and the second largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, BWH is dedicated to a tripartite mission of outstanding patient care, cutting-edge research, and superior education for medical students and postgraduate trainees. The Brigham Research Institute is one of leading biomedical research entities in the world, and the third-largest recipient of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding among independent hospitals in the United States. With over $640 million in total research funding and over 1,000 principal investigators, BWH has had considerable success in research as measured by the number of important discoveries made, the size and scope of its research portfolio and the volume of publications.
