Truly experts in their field, the thoracic surgeons at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) perform thousands of surgeries and procedures each year. The thoracic team also includes a core group of physician assistants (PAs) and nurses who are invaluable to the patient care team.

PAs obtain medical histories conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, assist in surgery, perform procedures, prescribe medications, order and interpret lab tests, and provide patient education and counseling.
