Urman became CEO of the Institute for Safety in Office-Based Surgery, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, independent organization whose aim is to promote patient safety in office-based surgery and to encourage collaboration, scholarship, and physician and patient education. The ISOBS aims to accomplish its goals by working with:
-
HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS to obtain current information about office and provider credentialing, to take advantage of our Consortium of OBS Experts, and to further their education about the basic principles of OBS safety.
-
PATIENTS to educate them about safe office-based surgery practices, and to help them obtain the tools needed to understand their healthcare provider’s and facility’s credentials.
-
ALL concerned individuals, organizations, and partners, to enable them to participate in Institute’s educational and research activities, and to encourage them to support our programs and initiatives.
