The Cardiac Arrhythmia Service at our state-of-the-art Shapiro Cardiovascular Center is an internationally recognized leader in the evaluation and treatment of the most complex types of heart rhythm disturbances, known as arrhythmias - a condition which affects millions of people each year.

As one of the premiere services of its kind in the country devoted exclusively to the care of patients with irregular heart rhythms, heart palpitations and rapid heartbeats, the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service at Brigham and Women's Hospital is one of the most experienced. We offer patients personalized care and expertise that includes ongoing communication and education throughout treatment, outpatient care and follow-up.

Our physicians are leading researchers in the field of cardiac electrophysiology (the study of heart’s electrical system) and serve on the faculty at Harvard Medical School. Together they perform more than 2,000 procedures annually, utilizing the latest medications, devices and innovative approaches to care.

The Cardiac Arrhythmia Service is part of the world-renowned Cardiovascular Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a department that is consistently ranked in the top ten under the category of “Heart and Heart Surgery” in U.S. News and World Report’s annual “America’s Best Hospitals” edition.
