Smart for the Heart

In partnership with Sister to Sister: The Women's Heart Health Foundation, the Cardiovascular Wellness Service offers a free, national online wellness program, Smart for the Heart, which makes improving heart health easy. By participating in Smart for the Heart, you will receive a free Health Risk Assessment (HRA), a tool used to calculate personalized risk for heart disease based on a quick survey. You will receive results instantly, along with recommendations to help improve these risk factors. To join Smart for the Heart or for more information, click here.

Weight Watchers

Tuesdays, 11:30am-12:30pm
Shapiro 3rd Floor Porch, BWH

Weight Watchers is a program to help you lose weight. The PointsPlus® plan doesn’t make you eat foods you don’t like — or ban the ones you love. That’s a game changer. What’s more, you don’t need to go hungry, because you’ll learn how to choose delicious, healthy foods that can keep you feeling fuller for longer. Smart choices, made delicious. Come and join the Weight Watchers Meeting at Brigham & Women's Hospital. The meeting will be facilitated by a Weight Watchers' leader, Elizabeth Pembroke. For more information or to register, please click here.

Healthy Cooking and Tasting Demos

Third wednesday each month, 2nd Floor Tower, BWH

The Departments of Nutrition and Food Services have teamed up with the Cardiovascular Wellness Service to offer regular cooking demonstrations for all staff, patients, and visitors. Each cooking demonstration is unique, offering not only a cooking demonstration for the recipes of the day, but also providing information on these nutritious meals, samples to taste, and recipes to take home. All of our recipes are not only delicious but heart healthy too! Our past cooking demonstrations have included recipes for all kinds of meals, including heart healthy oatmeal, turkey burgers, Mediterranean style quinoa pilaf, and apple blueberry crisp - so come to future demonstrations to see what we'll be cooking up next!
