Director, Fellowship Training Program
Dr. Makrauer joined the GI Division in June 2003 as a clinician-teacher. He is currently the Associate Director for the Division’s GI Fellowship Program. He received his fellowship training under Drs. Peter Banks and Norman Grace at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and Faulkner Hospital and maintained an IBD practice at Newton-Wellesley Hospital for twenty years. He has been heavily involved in resident and student teaching and has received recognition regularly for his efforts. His research interests include Ileal involvement in ulcerative colitis and predictors of continuity experience in outpatient medical training. He continues a long-term commitment to the treatment of patients with IBD and the activities of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
