One of two health centers licensed by Brigham and Women's Hospital, Brookside Community Health Center provides multi-disciplined, comprehensive integrated care with services in the following areas: adult medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics (including midwifery), family planning, gynecology, dentistry, oral surgery, nutrition/WIC, mental health and social services.
Each year, more than 11,000 patients from Jamaica Plain and the surrounding neighborhoods use these services, making more than 69,000 visits to Brookside each year. The health center's services are provided by a bilingual Spanish/English medical and professional staff.
Special services include: orthodonture; case management; substance use disorder services; mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults; theraputic nutrition department; Women, Infant, Children (WIC) program; physical fitness youth programs; as well as breastfeeding support. Most specialty referrals are made to Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, and other local health centers.
