Omowunmi Aibana, MD

Omowunmi Aibana, MD earned her BS from Johns Hopkins University in 2005, and her MD from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2009. During medical school, she participated in a Guatemala Health Initiative (GHI) and spearheaded an effort to procure medical supplies for GHI’s partner hospital in the Mayan village of Santiago Atitlan. She spent a summer in Malawi with Penn’s Population Studies Center researching the influence of social networks in the dissemination of knowledge of various aspects of HIV/AIDS, and assisting healthcare staff with Voluntary Counseling and Testing for HIV. She also completed a clinical elective at a rural Tanzanian hospital.
