In the battle against brain cancer, Dr. Nathalie Agar and her team have developed a high-tech imaging method called mass spectrometry. This device acquires molecular fingerprints of the tissue to help determine the type of tissue, type of tumor, grade of tumor, and more. This informs the neurosurgeon on whether or not to remove a piece of tissue during surgery and will help in the development of new drugs to treat brain tumors.
