Our state-of-the-art, 46-bed, Level-3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the best in the world. Located just one floor above the labor and delivery site in the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s health - where mothers stay after delivery - our nationally and internationally-recognized neonatologists in our NICU provide on-site evaluation and treatment 24 hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year, for approximately 3,600 infants annually.
Our specialists care for babies with prematurity, respiratory disease, congenital malformations and genetic abnormalities, congenital and neonatal infections, and neonatal neurological and metabolic disorders. Our NICU features a large area for each infant, so that parents may stay comfortably beside their baby. We also offer five family rooms, including two with facilities for overnight parent stays, and a Sibling Corner, a supervised play area for siblings of NICU babies.
Our neonatologists also perform cutting-edge research (link to NICU research), and many of our studies are funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
