This video illustrates in full detail our surgical technique for robot-assisted enucleation of an adenomyoma. Adenomyisis is an endometriosis of the uterine wall that is associated with pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding and reproductive dysfunction. Diffuse adenomyosis cannot be surgically addressed, whereas excision of focal adenomyosis (also known as ADENOMYOMA) followed by uterine reconstruction is possible. Such adenomyomectomy is exceedingly difficult to perform by conventional laparoscopy and even by open surgery. The video focuses on the great dexterity allowed by exceptional degree of articulation of the robotic instruments, which allow meticulous dissection of disease and pristine reconstruction of the uterine layers.
