Feeding a family is hard work. Feeding a hospital with 11,000 employees and up to 12,000 patients three meals a day is an entirely different matter. Each day, over 90 members of the food service bring nutritious meals to patients and employees -- and each day it's something new.
So how does the team and BWH do it? Good training. Good attendance. Good hires.
The staff values punctuality as a way to ensure everyone works together. BWH backs that up with training and an understanding that whatever questions you have - the door is always open. Everyone understands "we are here for the patients and patients come first."
To transport patients during their stay, messenger, and respond to delivery needs throughout the hospital. Maturity, mobility, flexibility and a caring attitude are required. This is available for volunteers who need weekend and evening accommodation for participation in the Pre-Medical Career Exploration program.
A team of over 80 professionals work to provide a safe and reliable patient care environment for everyone who visits and works at BWH.
With the addition of new buildings and new mechanical systems, BWH is a challenging and very rewarding place to work. Positions in many licensed and unlicensed trades exist within the department. Employees have the opportunity to enhance their career through additional training. And this growth provides additional and new opportunities to all staff. It's a great place to work and many employees have worked their entire career in the Engineering Department.
