Career Planning – “How Do I Decide to Change Careers?”
Making the move to your next career is not something you should jump into. You should spend some time and evaluate what it is you are good at, what type of work interests you and what your skills are. There are many opportunities within the hospital, examine the ones that interest you, and even look into the ones you know nothing about. Once you know what you are interested in, you can make a plan for how to advance to that position.

If you are unsure about what you are interested in or even what you’re good at, take some skills and interest inventories to help you identify what your strengths are. One thing to remember: skills and interest inventories are not designed to dictate what your career should be. More likely, the results may confirm things that you already know about yourself (“I knew I liked helping people – it seems to be a real strength of mine”).
