PASSPORT TO ADVANCEMENT for Entry-Level Employees
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
“Passport to Advancement” is a comprehensive employee training and development program that aims to provide an opportunity for entry-level employees at Brigham and Women’s to build on their skills, and advance to higher positions within the hospital. The program consists of two tracks: 1) Administrative Career Advancement and 2) Pre-College
Applicants will participate in a formal assessment. Depending on the outcome of the assessment, and the participant’s career goal, participants will be recommended for the appropriate track. The Career Coach will develop an individualized passport for each participant.

EMPLOYEE ELIGIBILITY
Employees must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for this program:
- Must be employed at BWH for at least one year
Must be in good performance standing (no disciplinary actions within previous six months)
Must complete a BWH Workforce Initiative application, including:
A letter of recommendation from your immediate supervisor
A personal statement of at least 200 words (typed or neatly printed): What are your duties and responsibilities? Describe your perceived strengths and areas for improvement. Describe your career goals and educational objectives.
Final applicants will be required to participate in an interview process
ASSESSMENTS
This program requires employees to participate in a formal assessment as part of the screening process.
APPLICATION AND DEADLINE NOTIFICATION
The deadline for submitting an application is June 20th, 2008. Employees will receive notification of their selection status in August.
