Q: When can I expect to hear from you regarding my resume?
A: We try to review all resumes as quickly as possible. However, as the hiring process differs slightly for each position, we cannot promise an exact time. However, in most cases, interviews are scheduled as soon as qualified candidates are identified. Sometimes that is right away, but for positions where hard-to-find skills are required, it can take a little longer. We are very fortunate to get applications from all over the country and from exceptionally talented people. While we would like to speak with everyone personally, it is not always possible. A BWH recruiter will call you as soon as they've matched your resume to an open position or when the hiring manager has reviewed your resume for an interview.

A: From the time a position is posted until the last interview is scheduled and a decision is made can take several weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding as the process of searching for a job can be challenging. We try to give the appropriate time for each resume submitted for a position. It is our goal to review each resume submitted for a position. Please contact our HR office and a recruiter will be more than happy to inform you of the status of your application.

Q: Will BWH sponsor non-citizens with an H1 visa?
A: On a case-by-case basis we may sponsor certain individuals provided it is permitted by law. Often, sponsorship depends on the position's requirements. For me information, please visit the Partners International Office Home page.
Q: How should I prepare for my interview?
A: First of all, congratulations on making it to the next step in the hiring process. Your recruiter will provide details about the interview, such as the time and directions to your interview site. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Show us what you can do! Bring extra copies of your resume as well as examples of your work. Print & complete our employment application prior to coming in for your interview. Recommendation letters, last two performance reviews, special recognitions, an article you've written or anything else that will help you present yourself the best possible way would also be helpful.
We can't say enough about being prepared. You will be asked questions about your past work experience. Before you come in, write down your responsibilities, challenges, and accomplishments from previous positions and how they might prepare you for a position at BWH.
Dress appropriately. Of course, dress codes vary across jobs, but professional attire is always appreciated. One thing to mention -- our offices and hospital are "fragrance free" -- meaning you should not wear perfume, cologne, or scented products of any kind as it can be uncomfortable to certain patients.
If you have any questions about the interview process, who you'll be talking to, or about what skills the position requires - check with your recruiter. They will be your coach for your interviews at BWH.
Last but not least, Smile! Interviews can make people nervous. But remember, we're excited to meet you, and we want to see you do your best by letting your personality and enthusiasm come through.
Q: Where can I find out about salary ranges?
A: Salaries can vary based upon experience, job requirements, schedules and level of responsibility. It would be next to impossible to list every possible opportunity and salary. We invite you to discuss salary and compensation questions directly with your recruiter.
Q: What is BWH's benefits package like?
A: We have an extensive explanation of all the benefits offered by BWH on our benefits web page.
Q: If I'm hired by BWH, how long before I can transfer to other positions within the institution?
A: Six months is the general rule of thumb. However, if you are hired under the Massachusetts Nursing Association contract, different rules apply. Contact your Nurse Recruiter for details.
Q: I have been offered and accepted a position, now what happens?
A: All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion and review of a CORI (Criminal Offender background check) and a medical screening by our Occupation Health Services Department.
Q: I have more questions about the hiring process. Who should I contact?
A: Once you start the interviewing process, your recruiter will be your guide. Speak with them about any questions or concerns you may have. They have a wealth of information about BWH and what it's like to work here. The HR phone number is: 617-582-0100
