Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Initial or Renewal 15 Classroom Hours

Course Description: This is an instructor led traditional classroom course that includes basic and advanced life support skills practice, skills testing and a written exam. Course content includes recognition and management of peri-arrest conditions, stroke, ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes, 1 person CPR/AED for adults, management of cardiac arrest and effective team dynamics. Upon successful completion participants will receive an ACLS provider course completion card valid for two years.

Intended Audience: This course is intended for health care providers whose professional activities require proficiency in ACLS knowledge and skill.

Pre-Requisite Knowledge: The BWH requires current BLS certification in order to obtain ACLS certification. Basic knowledge and skills including BLS skills, ECG rhythm interpretation, and basic ACLS drug pharmacology are required for attendance. Prior to attending class you are expected to read the ACLS provider manual and complete the self assessment ACLS pre-course Assessment

If the material in the pre-course self assessment is challenging for you, it is recommended that you complete an ECG and pharmacology review. The ECG and Pharmacology review materials may be purchased through the following distributors http://aha.channing-bete.com/

Study Materials: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider Manual (90-1014)

CE Credit: CEUs are not available at this time

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Initial or Renewal Online Plus in Person Skills Validation Classroom Hours:  1 hour

Course Description: This is a blended learning course comprised of online self paced learning modules and in-person advanced cardiovascular life support skills practice and testing. Skill testing includes adult one rescuer CPR/AED and Megacode test.

Intended Audience: This course is intended for health care providers whose professional activities require proficiency in ACLS knowledge and skill.

Pre-Requisite Knowledge: The BWH requires current BLS certification in order to obtain ACLS certification. Basic knowledge and skills including BLS skills, ECG rhythm interpretation, and basic ACLS drug pharmacology are required for attendance. CE Credit: 0 contact hours

Cost: Participants are responsible for obtaining and completing HeartCode ACLS Part 1(90-1405) Online Part 1 before attending class. The cost for skills validation is $100.00.
