In 2008, Harvard Medical School (HMS) received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for a Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) program, locally called Harvard Catalyst. The Harvard Catalyst Central Laboratory (HCCL) is one of the resources funded by this grant. The consolidation of the previous five General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) laboratories encourages the efficient use of resources and decreases costs to investigators.
The mission of the Harvard Catalyst Central Laboratory (HCCL) is to provide state-of-the-art, high-quality research assays to investigators at reduced costs.
