New patients seeking information about the hospital, or wishing to schedule an appointment with a BWH physician, should call the Patient Referral Service number: 1-800-294-9999. This number is staffed 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Patient referral representatives can help patients choose an appropriate physician and then schedule an initial appointment with that physician. For your convenience, bilingual patient referral representatives are on staff.
For Physicians
The Trauma and Burn Center always accepts any injured patient, and has a 24-hour Transfer Line for referring physicians (617-732-5034).
The toll-free Physician Referral Service number: 1-800-MD to BWH (1-800-638-6294) is staffed 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, if you would like to receive additional information about the hospital's services. A representative can direct you to the physician with whom you wish to speak, as well as facilitate consultations and second opinions. Extended service coverage is anticipated; until that time, after hours, you may leave a voicemail message, and your call will be returned promptly.
