Gestational Trophoblastic Disease/Molar Pregnancy

How is the Disease Diagnosed?

Placental tissue always produces hCG. Following any kind of pregnancy hCG should gradually clear from your system. If trophoblastic tissue continues to grow, the hCG level will persist. Persistent or rising hCG levels following any type of pregnancy is indicative of persistent trophoblastic tissue.
