Nurse practitioners with expertise in pain/symptom management and complementary therapies are available to offer care and advice for our outpatient population.
Support and Educational Programs
A variety of seminars and support groups are available for patients and families. Support groups exist for people with specific diseases, newly diagnosed patients, and long-term survivors. (617) 632-5503
Patient and Family Advisory Council
A group of patients and family members works in partnership with Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center staff to assure delivery of the best care. Council members invite participation in a variety of committees and projects. (617) 632-5503
Adult Patient and Family Advisory Council
Care Coordination
Staff in this department provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families. They can also assist with community services, housing, transportation, and home-care planning and arrangement.(617) 632-3301
Nutrition Services
Professional nutritionists are available for consultations about food and dietary concerns.
Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy Services
Chaplains are available for spiritual support. A non-denominational chapel is open for quiet reflection or prayer. (617) 632-3908(617) 732-7480
Blum Resource Center
This center in the main lobby has books, articles, videos, and Internet information about cancer treatments and services. Staff can help patients and family members search on the World Wide Web. A range of materials may be borrowed before, during, and after treatments.(617) 632-5570
The Friends Boutique at the Gillette Center for Women's Cancers
Located on the ninth floor of the Dana Building, the boutique provides services and products to meet the special needs of adults and children with cancer. It carries specialty items to help with changes in appearance due to cancer treatments. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. (617) 632-2211
