The Patrick Thompson House (PTH) was established in 1987 to provide housing for adult cancer patients’ family members. When an apartment near the hospital became available, the Departments of Social Work and Hematology took on the management responsibilities for operational expenses, registration assignments and maintenance. Access to the apartment is based on medical, geographic and economic factors.
Family support is crucial and we are extremely proud to have clean housing accommodations near the Hospital for family members. Registration is required and access provided upon availability. This apartment provides individuals the opportunity to do their own cooking, laundry, relax for brief periods of time and, most importantly, be in close proximity to their family member, the patient.
