Student Profiles
Melissa Rocha was accecpted to SSJP as a sophmore. Now, a senior at Health Careers Academy, Melissa has thrived in SSJP and is interested in pursuing medicine as a career.
Melissa works in the Burn Trauma Unit with her mentor, Yvonne Michaud. Some of Melissa's internship responibilities include working on national and state datasets, researching burn trauma, participating in patient rounds and shadowing surgeons.
Because of Melissa's academic sucess and focus and dedication to medicine, she was accepted to the Early Medical Scholars Program at the University of Rochester. This is an eight year program, combining the Bachelor's Degree and Medical Degree. This is an incredibly competitive program, only offered to ten students each year.
We are proud of Melissa and thrilled that she has a such a bright and promsing future!
