| | Sometimes the only way to solve a pressing problem is to depart from the traditional course and try something else. In this issue of Brigham and Women's Magazine, we describe how BWH is finding creative solutions to treat disease. Our cover story showcases our new Osher Clinical Center for Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies, where we use non-traditional treatments such as acupuncture, massage, tai chi and nutrional counseling--combined with traditional medical treatment--to help our paitents live longer, healthier lives. This issue also describes how we expand care beyond our hospital's walls to our local community through our PACT program and globally in in areas such as Rwanda and Haiti.
Also in this issue, a profile on Dr. Howard Hiatt as part of our BWH Profiles in Medicine series. This issue provides online content as well as downloadable PDFs.
