Dr. Sadovnikoff is on the Faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He joined the Ethics Committee in 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in 1977 and completed his medical education at Brown University, graduating in 1984. He trained in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, then worked for three years in an underserved setting on the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He subsequently trained in Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and in Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He came to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1988, and since 2002 has served as Co-Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Units. He divides his time between operating room anesthesia and clinical and administrative responsibilities in the SICU. His ethics interests involve end-of-life care and utilization of resources.
