Dr. Cochrane is a faculty neurologist and specialist in neuromuscular disease. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2000, and performed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. His subspecialty training in neuromuscular disease was done at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
He completed the Fellowship in Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School in 2005. He was the 2005-6 Edmond J. Safra Fellow in Ethics at the Safra Foundation Center for Ethics at Harvard University. He is an active member of the BWH Ethics Committee and consultation service. His academic interest in ethics centers on altered states of consciousness and end-of-life decisionmaking.
