The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery is dedicated to excellence in surgical care and patient satisfaction. This web site contains patient information that you should review prior to your office visit. Included is information on preoperative testing, preoperative preparation (such as bowel preparation for intestinal surgery), postoperative instructions for various common gastrointestinal procedures, and information on various diagnoses and specialty procedures, as well as a special section on gastrointestinal cancers. If you have any questions concerning a specific diagnosis that you have, please do not hesitate to contact one of the surgeons within our Division for a consultation in the office.
Before Your Appointment
- Please print and fill out the information on the Registration Form and History and Referral Form. These forms will be available in the office, if you are unable to bring the forms to your appointment.
- If your insurance requires a referral from your primary care physician (PCP), please ask your PCP for a referral and submit that information to the surgeon’s office.
Your Surgical Experience
BWH provides you with general patient information regarding your surgical experience and hospital stay.
