Note: The terms used in this document are classified according to the International Classification of Impairments, Disabilities, and Handicaps from the World Health Organization and the Institute of Medicine/Nagi Framework. Impairments concern the loss of psychological, physiological or anatomical structures or functions. Disability is the restriction or lack of ability to perform an activity as a result of impairment while handicap represents the social consequences of the impairment or disability.
